RECORDING INFORMATION
Wolfgang Holzmair is renowned for his recordings of Schubert, Schumann and Beethoven Lieder. Many of these have been with his regular accompanist, Imogen Cooper. This recording presents Lieder from the three most important Viennese composers of all time: Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.

Fans of Holzmair will not be disappointed and many of the pieces have not been recorded before.

Holzmair, the leading Austrian baritone, has been with Philips exclusively since 1993. He has won numerous awards and performed extensively all over the world. Although he is most famous for his interpretation of Lieder, he is also active in the opera world and on the concert platform where he appears with leading orchestras and conductors.

Imogen Cooper was born in London and at the age of 12 went to study at the Paris Conservatoire, graduating from there in 1967 with the Premier Prix. She then studied with Alfred Brendel with whom she recorded Mozart’s Double and Triple Concertos for Philips..
