Once as I remember - The Story of Christmas
This album is based on the Christmas Pageants John Eliot Gardiner and his
family organised and performed when he was a child. As such, this album shares
his Story of Christmas with the world.
The tracks included are a musical
representation of the biblical account of events leading up to and surrounding
the birth of Christ.
This is not a compilation of best known Christmas carols, but a musical
journey through historical events
Whilst the songs come from various eras, the tracks are based on folk or
traditional repertoire which have been used over the centuries to tell the best
known story of Christmas.
